The Rodrigue Family —Wendy, André, and Jacques— invites you to an opening reception for “Rodrigue: The Begneaud Collection.” This special evening honors the Begneaud Family of Lafayette, Louisiana, the largest collectors of George Rodrigue’s Cajun paintings.
This unprecedented exhibition features twenty-five original paintings by George Rodrigue, including classics like Boudreaux in the Barrel (1972), Cajun Bride of Oak Alley (1974), and Doc Moses, Cajun Traiteur (1974)—all important works within The Cajuns of George Rodrigue (1976, Oxmoor House), the first book published nationally on the Cajun culture, chosen by the National Endowment for the Arts and First Lady Rosalynn Carter as the Official Gift of State during the Carter administration.
A limited number of this rare book, long out of print, will be available for purchase during the reception.
RSVP to Rodrigue Studio at 337.233.3274 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Reception includes wine and light hors d’oeuvres provided by the Blue Dog Café. Exhibition continues through April 30, 2017.
