November 15 – 17, 2018: The Life & Legacy Tour visited Oklahoma, with education outreach organized by Louisiana A+ Schools and Oklahoma A+ Schools!
While in Oklahoma for the opening of The Art of George Rodrigue: Shiny Happy Blue Dog, Wendy Rodrigue, widow of artist George Rodrigue, brought original Rodrigue paintings into three OKA+ Schools (Northwoods in Sand Springs, Grissom in Tulsa, and Freedom in Sepulpa), organized by LAA+ Schools Executive Director Bethany France and OKA+ Schools Executive Director Sandy Kent— who joined in for two full days of education outreach!
All of the kids lit up when Wendy Rodrigue, wife of famous artist George Rodrigue, spoke to them about the art and where George got his inspiration from.
