Wendy Rodrigue completed The Other Side of the Painting (UL Press) in 2013, intending to premiere it that October while on book tour with her husband, artist George Rodrigue. Sadly, that was not to be, when Rodrigue lost his life to cancer in December of that year.
In spring 2016, Wendy returned to a public life, dedicated to educating the public about this important and beloved American artist, George Rodrigue. Wendy is actively involved in Rodrigue Studios operations and the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts. However, it is her speaking engagements, as well as writing and outside presentations of his work, that remain her primary life’s dedication.
At an Evening with Great Authors, Wendy will discuss George Rodrigue’s artistic and philanthropic legacy, combined with a reading from The Other Side of the Painting, and a special exhibition of original Rodrigue artworks from the couple’s private collection.
A book signing follows, with all proceeds benefitting the arts in education programs of the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts.
