\u201cWe think we know movie stars as people; but in real life they are someone else. \u00a0The camera loves their look, and as a result we as an audience interpret what they think. \u00a0We are seduced by their character. \u00a0The Blue Dog is similar. \u00a0You may look at it and think one thing, but deep down there\u2019s always a mystery of why and what it is. \u00a0These two classical icons together (Marilyn Monroe and the Blue Dog) create an even greater mystery. \u00a0And to me, that\u2019s the definition of art.\u201d \u00a0<\/i><\/span>Read more on Wendy Rodrigue’s Life and Legacy page.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Note: \u00a0Although Rodrigue printed this edition, he did not complete signing it. \u00a0According to the appraisal firm, Matthew Clayton Brown, there is a well-established precedent for completing an artist\u2019s edition posthumously —-notably with editions from the Estate of Andy Warhol concerning artwork Warhol had created but not yet signed upon his death.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

In other words, this is not a new print. \u00a0It is the original Rodrigue edition. \u00a0Because Rodrigue did not complete signing the run, his estate is completing the numbered series using his official estate stamp, picking up where he left off, with #31\/125. \u00a0A Certificate of Authenticity with each print will reflect this signed\/numbered distinction, as well as the fact that this is an original edition created in 2012 by George Rodrigue.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n
