Wendy Rodrigue enhances LCM\u2019s \u201cRiverworks\u201d exhibition with original Blue Dog and Cajun Series paintings by her late husband<\/i><\/span><\/h4>\n

Rivers are a running theme throughout George Rodrigue\u2019s 45-year career.\u00a0 <\/span>For this special visit to the Louisiana Children\u2019s Museum, part of an ongoing Life & Legacy Tour<\/a> for the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts<\/a>, Wendy Rodrigue shares her late husband\u2019s artwork and stories, complementing the museum\u2019s new exhibition, \u201cRiverworks.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In this unique presentation, appropriate for all ages, Wendy will relate the history of Rodrigue\u2019s paintings to the mystique of Louisiana\u2019s waterways.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bayous, like roads, indicate movement, and for the Cajuns the Bayou Teche was the center of activity. \u00a0Bayou Teche, the Indian name for \u2018winding snake,\u2019 was the soul of the Cajun; thus I convey the floating quality of the people as they moved with the Teche.It was their pathway to the rest of the world.Everything came to the Cajuns through the bayous, particularly the Bayou Teche. \u2013George Rodrigue<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
