This stunning lithograph, printed in Paris, France, derives from George Rodrigue\u2019s painting of the same name— an image he created in 2010 as a wine label for Napa Valley winemaker Heidi Barrett\u2019s award-winning ros\u00e9, Pr\u00eat \u00e0 Boire. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>The color pink is just before blue on the color wheel,\u201d explained George Rodrigue. \u00a0\u201cThe dog is preparing to change, to ripen. \u00a0I tried to show that it\u2019s the beginning of things. \u00a0The wine is ready to drink, the flowers are blooming, and the dog is ready to turn blue.\u201d LEARN MORE<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

About this special and traditional print-making process, Rodrigue explained,<\/span> \u201cUnlike my silkscreens, this print comes from an original painting. \u00a0I also worked with fifteen other artists and craftsmen to make this happen. \u00a0Each person specializes in a different field including separating the colors, etching the stone, and hand-printing the colors individually, layered one on top of the other, creating a continuous tone image similar to an original painting.\u201d LEARN MORE<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
