Nearly 5,000 people have visited \u201cRodrigue: Houston<\/a>\u201d since its April 25th<\/sup> opening!<\/p>\n

Grateful to the Houston community for their enthusiasm and interest, the Rodrigue family is extending the exhibition (originally closing July 5th<\/sup>) an additional two weeks to July 19th<\/sup><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This unique retrospective exhibition features 75 original works of art spanning 45 years, including George Rodrigue\u2019s dark Louisiana Landscapes, Cajun genre scenes, and iconic \u201cBlue Dog\u201d paintings.<\/p>\n

\"RodrigueWestAve_DOPhoto_61315-92<\/a>\u201cDad\u2019s connection to Houston runs deep, with close friends, stories, artwork, and philanthropy since the 1970s,\u201d explains Jacques Rodrigue, Executive Director of the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family is touched that the Houston community has enjoyed this exhibition; and we\u2019re pleased to extend this special showing of classic and rarely seen George Rodrigue paintings.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"4004\"<\/a>During \u201cRodrigue: Houston\u201d the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts, a non-profit organization established by the artist in 2009, has donated $25,000 worth of art supplies to Houston Independent Schools District classrooms and hosted free exhibit tours for nearly 1,000 Houston area students.<\/p>\n
