On Monday, November 3rd<\/sup>, 2014 the Estate of George Rodrigue released \u201cChoo Choo Ch\u2019Boogie,\u201d the fourth print to be released by the artist\u2019s studio since his passing on December 14, 2013. Printed in Paris, France, this estate stamped edition of 275 is a hand-pulled stone lithograph of Rodrigue’s original painting.<\/p>\n

Choo Choo Ch\u2019Boogie\u00a0is a perfect example of the classic Rodrigue style:\u00a0\u00a0a\u00a0stylized oak tree<\/a>\u00a0dissected by the canvas\u2019s upper edge so that its lower branches form interesting blue shapes above the bushes. The subjects \u2013the\u00a0Oak Tree<\/a>, the\u00a0Blue Dog<\/a>, and even the handmade carvings- connect a lifetime of painting and interests. LEARN MORE<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited that we can release this new\u00a0print.\u201d Said Jacques Rodrigue, son\u00a0of George Rodrigue. \u201cDad wanted it printed in Paris and released in time for a Christmas last year.\u00a0 My family and I are excited that we can still fulfill his original intentions.”<\/p>\n

In a recent blog-post<\/a> the artist\u2019s wife Wendy Rodrigue explained, \u201cHe painted it [Choo Choo Ch\u2019Boogie]\u2026 intending a hand-pulled stone lithograph of the image, printed in the old style in Paris, France.\u00a0 It would be his fourth print using this method.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cChoo Choo Ch\u2019Boogie\u201d is available\u00a0in Rodrigue Studio locations in New Orleans\u2019 French Quarter, Lafayette, and Carmel, California.<\/p>\n

The Estate of George Rodrigue created a\u00a0proprietary\u00a0ink to stamp on\u00a0editions\u00a0of prints released by the Rodrigue Estate. \u00a0The one-of-a-kind ink formula includes several security measures that guarantee the authenticity of Rodrigue Estate editions. \u00a0The stamp measures approximately 1.5 x 3 inches and is screened directly onto prints issued by the Rodrigue Estate. \u00a0This signature ink reacts uniquely to differing wavelengths of light.<\/p>\n
