The Estate of George Rodrigue Releases Posthumous \u201cBlue Dog\u201d Print to Benefit the\u00a0<\/b>Louisiana State University School of Music and the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2018Take Five\u2019 to be unveiled at The Cook Hotel Thursday, September 4<\/i><\/b>th<\/sup><\/i><\/b> at private reception featuring the Rodrigue Steinway Piano<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>BATON ROUGE\u2014On Thursday, September 4th\u00a0<\/sup>the Estate of George Rodrigue will unveil a new posthumous print, Take Five<\/i>, at a private reception at the Cook Hotel (3848 West Lakeshore Drive, Baton Rouge) from 5:00 PM \u2013 7:00 PM. The silkscreen was designed by George Rodrigue before his passing on December 14, 2013 and has been printed posthumously in a limited numbered edition of 950. Following the unveiling, the print will be available for purchase at Rodrigue Studio locations<\/a> in New Orleans\u2019 French Quarter, Lafayette, and Carmel, California. The print is offered at a price of $500 with all proceeds supporting the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts (GRFA)<\/a> and the LSU School of Music<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The reception will bring together fans of George<\/p>\n

Rodrigue\u2019s art and supporters of the LSU School of Music for a first look at the exclusive print, Take Five<\/i>. Guests will enjoy Blue Dog inspired cocktails and hors d\u2019oeuvres and music by LSU School of Music PhD student Harold Mims who will perform on the Rodrigue Steinway piano.<\/p>\n

The Estate of George Rodrigue created a\u00a0proprietary\u00a0ink to stamp on\u00a0editions\u00a0of prints released by the Rodrigue Estate. \u00a0The one-of-a-kind ink formula includes several security measures that guarantee the authenticity of Rodrigue Estate editions. \u00a0The stamp measures approximately 1.5 x 3 inches and is screened directly onto prints issued by the Rodrigue Estate. \u00a0This signature ink reacts uniquely to differing wavelengths of light.<\/p>\n
